RoundUp № 36
June was an exciting month for game developers! One of the most significant events is the Steam Next Fest, where developers release playable demos, gather valuable player feedback, and build excitement ahead of their games’ launches. There were also some major game jams, like the The Very Serious Juniper Dev Game Jam, the NES Jam, the Game Poems Jam, and the Manifesto Jam!
We also had a Miniature Paint Night, starring our yellow gamelien, Terrence! Check out the pictures on instagram!
Dev Updates
- Tony Wojnar finished creating the Crayon Canyon level for Dribble 2 and is now working on a static-themed level!
- Eternal Delta Games put up a demo of their game, Yacht Sea: Island Casino for Steam Next Fest! A non-idle clicker dice game about getting rich the honest way: brazen cheating and lucky rolls. Bribe the dealer, rig the table, chase bigger payouts, and cool it down before the casino catches on.
- Dustin Triplett has been working on a typing game in godot. What if there was a Typing of the Dead spinoff, but for destroying your personal demons holding you back?
- Goofy Gourd Studios has been working on a dialogue system to play mid-battle!
- Todd Mitchell posted a clip from a side-scrolling brawler made in Godot at a hot-topic historical site!
- CodeInInk uploaded a prototype of Goblin City Planner! Connect houses and caves together as you expand the transportation in the depths of a goblin city. Do well and you’re entrusted with more of the city; poorly .. well, it’s best not to think of that now.
