September brought in a gust of developer updates! STLGameDev represented St. Louis with our arcade launcher at the Chicago Indie Games Showcase! This upcoming month, we are hosting the 2026 Spooky Jam from October 1st through October 18th, and it’s not too late to join! Check out the rules at the provided link.

Dev Updates
- James C. Kane has been developing a bunch this month, with researching DIY dynamic gaussian splats and testing 1-to-4 camera capture methods like 4DAnyone and SharpML, played back with World Labs’ SparkJS in real-time in the browser, announced that The Nanauts will be featured at Meta Connect, and is experimenting with Slime sims running on zero-dependency WebGPU + WebXR!
- LargerThanAverageGames made a fun video to help promote Guild Legends’ multiplayer!
- Mike Breault has been demo-ing Rubber Ducky Rampage! at game cons starting with GenCon in early August, then MoonCityCon (Springfield, MO) in mid-August, Who’s Yer Con in Indy on 9/4-6/2026, TableTop Central (Savoy, IL) on 9/12-13/2026, Greyhawke Con (Murfreesboro, IL) on 9/19, and Archon (Collinsville, IL) on 10/2-4/2026. Coming up is MOBot’s Best of Missouri show (St. Louis) on 10/9-11/2026, MadCon (Ft. Wayne, IN) on 10/23-25/2026, Meeple-A-Thon (Kansas City) on 11/6-8/2026, and Effing-Con (Effingham, IL) on 11/28/26!
- Midnight Launch Games’ Time To Rogue has been updated with some major new features! The graphics have seen a total overhaul, the game now has a roguelike feature where certain floors let you choose a modifier that will make the rest of the game easier, some floors are boss floors, and there are now unlockable themes!
- Bloodrite Magicka released a video on how to play their game!
- Will Slama showed off Unity realtime lights converted to vertex coloring!
- Miniscule Games is working on a 3D kart racing game called The Road Jess Karted for Maryville University’s Game Scripting class!
- Tony Wojnar is almost done with the general layout of Glitch Ditch for the upcoming game, Dribble 2!
Music Releases
- Goofy Gourd Studios released a Battle Theme track for an upcoming game!
- Austin Miller worked on a couple of tracks for the newly released Sealed Fortress game!
- Chrono Cards released their soundtrack on Youtube!
Game Releases
- Carol Mertz and game developer Mary McKenzie created Museum Memory, which is set inside a virtual museum gallery and requires a good memory and a sharp eye.
- Alice Bucknell, Joseph Pleass, Ben West, Khalid Makshoush, Omar Khouri, and Nina Keith debuted Coyote Time, a game where players take on the role of a gig worker tasked with delivering to the City Museum. Play today on-site at the City Museum or online at https://coyotetime.world/.
